Thursday 12 September 2019
Report by Graeme Miller
Linlithgow started the match strongly with two tries, firstly from Cammy on 9 minutes and then from the hooker Chris on 18 minutes which Cammy converted. (12-0)
However, Trinity moved the ball very well across their backs resulting a try for them on 22 minutes. The Young Reds hit back very quickly with a three further tries before half time, through Gregor on 26 minutes, Alex on 29 minutes and finally Liam on 32 minutes.
Half time 27-5.
The Young Reds started quickly in the second half, moving it wide and Ben scoring after 2 minutes with Cammy converting. Cammy scored immediately afterwards, converting his own try. (41-5)
Then Captain Jamie, leading by example ran in two tries, firstly on 11 minutes and then on 17 minutes with Cammy converting the second one. (53-5)
Trinity weren’t finished though but Linlithgow put themselves under pressure by failing, again to take a kick-off cleanly giving their opponents possession deep in the Young Reds’ 22. Trinity exploited this gift, moving the ball quickly to their winger, who scored in the corner on 22 minutes.
Finally, Linlithgow finished things off from another break forward from loose play by Captain Jamie and he “chipped” ahead resulting in Cammy being first to capitalise, scoring under the posts on 27 minutes, converting his own try. The Young Reds finished the game as worthy 60-10 winners.
