U18 v Royal High in Plate (Oct19)

Young Reds Progress to Scottish Plate Semis

Linlithgow U18 26 – 14 Royal High U18

Quarter Final Scottish Cup Plate Competition

Tuesday 29th October 2019

Under the lights on the bottom pitch at Linlithgow, the Young Reds U18’s took on Royal High School for the second time in four days! Again our boys came away with a win so we progress to the semi finals.

However we made heavy weather of it by going down 7-0 after 3 minutes! We did bounce back straight away with a good few phases of play resulting in Lewis scoring from the wing and Gregor converting. It stayed that way until 17 minutes with Liam bursting over from a forward rumble and again Gregor converted. Finally right on half time Ben scored after a brilliant run down the other wing. 19-7.

Worrying times as Royal High started well after the break and scored and converted after 5 minutes. 19-14 is how it stayed for the majority of the rest of the half. The game became very scrappy with Linlithgow not managing to get field position or indeed put any phases of play together. The Royal High boys spoiled well and threatened our line a few times.

However, we managed to fight back and scored through our prop Alex with Gregor converting. 26-14 is how it stayed until the end. We will need to play better next time!
