u15s v Strathaven (Feb 18)

Reds U15s Continue Fine Run

Linlithgow u15  42 – 0  Strathaven U15

Saturday 10 February 2018

With no school fixtures because of the local holiday weekend, the Young Reds were able to arrange a fixture against a Club side from the West. Strathaven U15s are having a good season and were expected to give the Young Reds a good competitive fixture.

The Strathaven boys turned up with 13 players, so Oscar kindly played the whole game for them making it 14-a-side. They stuck in well during the game and had a few quality players but the Young Reds tackled well and didn’t give them room.

The Young Reds still need to learn to run from a deeper position, with more pace, but everyone got at least half a game with Daniel gaining his second experience of playing rugby. A special mention must go to the Young Reds captain Kyle for his direct running and great tackling again. He lead by example from the front all match and was always encouraging the rest of the boys. Well done to everyone.

Linlithgow scored four tries in the first half, through Hamish, Tammo, Darren and Ewan. During the second half they scored a further four tries, this time through Gregor, Hamish (his second of the match), Kyle and Callum with the final play of the match. Ollie converted one!
