S3s at Trinity
Saturday 07 September 2019
Linlithgow S3s, or U15s, turned up with 12 bodies in today’s match against Trinity Academy who had a pool of 16. Straight from the kick off Linlithgow showed their intent and pinned Trinity back in their 22 until the winger gathered the ball after some great rucking by the Young Reds and somehow managed to run the ball in from deep in his own half to make it 7-0 for the home team! Unlike last week the boys did not let their heads go down and pressurised Trinity, but again breakaway tries happened and the boys were down 28-0 before they knew it. However they were far from finished and managed a great spell pinning Trinity back in their own 22 and with ruck after ruck, which eventually resulted in Kinloch crashing over for a converted try to make the score 28-7 at the break.
The second half was as competitive, but again Trinity managed to score a few breakaway tries after the hard work of the Young Reds in keeping them at bay in the middle of the pitch.
This was a significant improvement from last week, with all of the boys putting in a hard shift improving their defence and tackling well and gelling well as a team. The next game can only get better!
