S1 Highland Tour

S1 Highland Tour

The S1s has a cracking tour on 22nd February to Inverness to play the prestigious Highland RFC team over a fun packed weekend.  With 4 coaches and 21 players having a brilliant weekend with games, swimming and trampolining arranged before a big game against one of the the best teams in Scotland at the S1 level.  After a fun packed weekend the game against Highlands RFC lived up to its expectations with one of the best games I have seen at this level.

The game was a true test of skill with the Highland team including an outside centre who according to their coaches was truly one on the best backs to come out of the highlands for a long time.  With Linlithgow stepping up to the challenge every great try scored from this player was matched from team tries from a great Linlithgow team response.  The game ebbed and flowed with both teams showing exceptional skills with the whole game never more than a try apart.

With Linlithgow going ahead in the last 3 minutes 8 try’s each but with an extra conversion, the Highland centre broke Linlithgow hearts with a try in the final minute to win 9 tries to 8 in a cracking game.  To be fair there were no losers in a games that will stay in the memory as what can only described as a cracker.  It was a fitting end to a great tour and thank you to all the supporters who helped raise funds to allow this brilliant tour.  A special mention to all the fund raisers and to Graeme Miller for his brilliant organisation.
