S1 at Trinity (Sep19)

Young Reds S1 match report

Saturday 07 September 2019

The second game of the year for Linlithgow S1 was away to Trinity. With the sun shining it was a perfect day for rugby and there was an upbeat atmosphere amongst the boys and travelling spectators.

The Trinity team were a couple of players short of a full side so a number of the Linlithgow boys played for them during each of the 15 minute segments of the game. The lads who helped them out played extremely well, putting everything into it and taking the opportunity to have a run at their usual teammates – Alfie even managed to score a try for both teams!

Overall the game was a bit one sided, with the Linlithgow team winning by 18 tries to 2. However this gave the young Reds a chance to work on everything they’ve been doing at training. We saw the structure and shape of the team starting to emerge, and the handling handling got better and better as the game went on. Ultimately it was a great team effort today with the ball being moved around and everyone taking opportunities to play their part in an exciting game of rugby.

All in all this was another step forward in the development this season and we are looking forward to the next outing.
