Peelers’ Ruby Anniversary Tournament

This week we go back nearly 10 years to the special Tournament that was held in November 2010 to celerbrate the 40th anniversary of Linlithgow Rugby Club. Three teams, each made up of former Reds’ players with a sprinkling of ‘veterans’, took part and you can review the action by using the link at the foot of this page.

Jim Mochrie (above) was one who dug out a pair of boots and joined the on-field action.
Wearing a coloured bib in theory protected the player from overly physical treatment, with most being placed in the “armchair” role of stand-off!

Neil McTavish, resplendant in green bib above, spanned the ages as, exactly 40 years to the day (21st November 1970), he was a member of the first ever Reds’ team who played against Currie, another newly formed club.
Dave Thomas, Honourary Vice President, made a cameo appearance, as seen in the photo below.
