Livi Claim Derby Opener
The Reds travelled to Livingston for the season’s Tennent’s East 1 opener, in a match which also kicked off their 50th anniversary season in the presence of new SRU President Dee Bradbury. After the match, Linlithgow’s Director of Rugby Gordon Dixon presented Livingston President Lee Anne Steel with a small plaque to commemorate the occasion. With a big pack and a determined press defence, the home team managed to keep the Reds at bay for most of the game, scoring a late try to run out 26-11 winners.
1st XV Opposition for 2s
Linlithgow 2s 7 – 20 Dalkeith 1s
The Reds 2s took on Dalkeith 1s at Mains Park last Saturday in a friendly – a late change as both sides had opponents call off against them. The young Reds side did well against the bigger more experienced team – good training for the start of the league season, as they’ve moved up a league this season!
School Excel Against Knox
Saturday 01 September 2018
The opening fixtures of the Schools’ Conference campaign saw Linlithgow Academy pitted against Knox Academy from Haddington. With the U18 match being redesignated as a development game, due to a number of players missing from both sides because of other school commitments, the Young Reds swept the board in the other 4 age grade matches, with cracking performances from all teams.
