Good Win but Scoreline Flatters Young Reds in U18 Match
Linlithgow u18 22 – 7 Carrick u18
Saturday 22 August 2015
The Reds u18s opened their season with a warm-up match against Carrick u18s from Ayrshire played over three 20 minute periods. The Reds came out on top, scoring 4 tries in the process through Lyle with a brace, Alexander and Lachlan. The match was much more even than the score suggests, with both teams playing strong and committed rugby. The Reds coaches were delighted with the great numbers for the first match, with a mixture of 5th and 6th year boys, including a few from Grangemouth. Both backs and forwards contributed well to the game and the final try came from a well worked move starting with a line-out followed by a rolling maul.
