Reds 2s Claim Emphatic Home Win Against Dunfermline
Linlithgow 2s 27 – 5 Dunfermline 2s
Saturday 04 October 2014
The game started briskly with the Reds putting pressure on the Dunfermline line. Chris Ronalson had started well and was controlling play intelligently, but last minute penalties were letting Dunfermline off the hook.
Cieran Faulds, new to the team this week, was then called upon to make a last ditch tackle to prevent Dunfermline scoring. Linlithgow moved into the Dunfermline half and Robbie Thomson broke blind to feed Billy Edment and Garry Anderson for Billy Edment to score. (5-0 to Linlithgow)
The Reds were by now dominating with Kyle Flucker and Cameron Dori-Muir both carrying and tackling well. The ball moved across the backs for Faulds to pass on the inside to supporting Dori-Muir who had some work to do before scoring. (12-0 to Linlithgow)
The Reds let their defence slip and Dunfermline scored before half time.
(12-5 to Linlithgow)
The Reds started strongly after half time and before long Cameron Dori-Muir had broken down the blind from a scrum and stretched out to score.
(17-5 to Linlithgow)
Good interplay between backs and forwards saw Billy Edment pop up in his favourite position in the backs to score.
(22-5 to Linlithgow)
Big Graeme Crowe playing against his old club scored the final try to finish the scoring.
(27-5 to Linlithgow)
This was another good performance from a Reds team including a number of recent school leavers who all performed well on the day. The Reds play Forresters’ at home next week.
