Pound Round the Pitch (2018)

YOUTH SECTION FUNDRAISER – YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

We will be holding a sponsored “Pound Round the Pitch” on Sunday 3rd June to help raise much needed money to refurbish the kitchen and to replace the Clubhouse roof – both now well past their sell-by dates.

We need you and your family and friends to go out there and get sponsored for each lap of the Upper Mains Park rugby club pitch that you can complete, whether you walk, run, get pushed or crawl round! We are suggesting that people might wish to sponsor you for £1 per circuit of the pitch and that 10 circuits might be a fair target.  – though no one will complain if some of the Micros can only manage 5 laps! If you can get 10 people to sponsor you then you would raise £100 towards our target. If you can persuade your family and friends to take part then you could raise even more! It’s over to you.

There will be prizes for those who raise the most money, with a prize for the individual who raises the most themselves, the individual who with their family and friends raises the most and for the team / age group that collectively raises the most money.

Pound Round The Pitch has been designed so that everyone from Micros through Minis and School to Senior players can take part.  And not only players – parents, coaches and other members of the Club can also join in. Please find a sponsorship form attached and go out there and get sponsored!

End-of-Season Fun Day

We have chosen the date of Sunday 3rd June to coincide with our annual end-of-season FUN DAY, so that we can have as much fun as possible while raising money. Normally the Fun Day is restricted to the Wee Reds Minis and Micros, however this season we want to invite all the youth sections up to U18s and their families and friends to take part.

As well as “Pound Round the Pitch”, we will have fun games for each of the Mini and Micro sections, a special ‘Mums against the P4s’ and a ‘Coaches against the P7s’, a tag rugby competition with teams of 6 (one S1, one S2, one S3, one U16, one U18 and one coach) and more. We will also fire up the barbeque and commission the Wee Reds Café.

We are still working up the details of the day which will be for everyone to come along to the club and have a good time. We will be ready to start at 10am and will look do the pounding first before moving on to the other fun activities.

See you there!
