P5s at Melrose (Sept 15)

P5s Beaten in Semis at Melrose

Sunday 27 September 2015

The P5 team had a brilliant tournament at Melrose and only a close loss to Stewarts Melville in the semis, who went on to win the tournament, stopped us.  Great Wins against Melrose, Langholm, Kinross and a tense draw against Peebles meant it was a really good day and we were so close to going all the way.

Highlights were the tackling, running great lines of attack and the support play, but the boys still need to step up in rucking and retaining the ball.

We were the best tacklers at the Tournament by a long way. We now need to turn that advantage into getting possession of the ball once the opposition player is on the floor, and get the ball out wide into space.

It was tough to go out in the semis, but we lost to a good team and this will make us more determined to improve and enjoy the games as a great squad of players at our next tournament, at Kinross.

Well done to all the squad!
