P4s at Kinross

P4s Display Superb Attitude to Deliver Strong Performances

Kinross Mini Tournament

Sunday 04 October 2015

Kinross RFC held their annual tournament with excellent organisation, preparation and with fun and learning as the ethos of the P4 tournament.  The P4 Reds’ first game was against the eventual tournament winners – Mackie.  Mackie rucked very well in 2s and 3s (although limited to only 1 under SRU guidelines) and managed to win convincingly.

Our P4s recovered well from what was a major shock and an unexpected introduction to full rucking.  The P4s gathered themselves and reverted to their strengths of quick passing, support play and swift offloads to score more than 4 tries in each of their following 4 games, winning 2 comfortably and losing 2 by a single try; beating Melrose and Dundee on the way.

The team’s attitude was superb following the early fright and they bonded together to demonstrate the importance of working as a team and trying hard for each other. Some fantastic tries were scored by a number of the players and the fast flowing style of swift passes and great offloads was a joy to watch for the many parents who came to support the team. They players improved throughout the tournament and we are proud of their spirit and rugby ethos.
