P4s at Currie

3 full teams with subs turned out, another fantastic turnout and the largest overall team at the event.

Firstly let me start with how well the players behaved. The players were very well behaved, enthusiastic, willing to listen and adapt and most importantly gave 100% effort; a joy to coach.

All teams performed very well and scored some truly superb tries some of which involved passing amongst every member if the team, super support play, ostentatious offloading and pop passing over multiple phases; a joy to watch for the many supportive travelling parents.

We have also asked the players to focus on their tackling and many players have been making great strides towards improving their tackling ability. While there are some individuals who are tackling like Jason White, there are others who may be timid. This is understandable and rest assured we will, as coaches, aim to develop the contact skills of tackling and rucking over coming weeks.

The players should be proud of how they played, their spirit, flow and attacking flair was really excellent and if we can improve our contact elements they will develop into a great squad. In particular I was impressed with the passing, recycling and camaraderie.

The future’s bright, the future’s Red!
