Club Close Down (Dec 21)

Club to Close Down Over Festive Period

The Club Board has taken the decision, in light of the current Covid-19 situation and Scottish Government advice on minimising socialising, to close the Club and its facilities from this Friday night (17th December) until Friday 7th January. The front door will be locked (by key), with limited access only. The Board will keep the situation under review and may reopen earlier if circumstances permit.

Bar and Clubhouse

The Bar and Clubhouse will remain closed during this period. This will be kept under review and members will be notified if circumstances change.

Rugby Activity

At present, outdoor rugby activity is permitted in Scotland however, with the Festive Break, little rugby was being planned anyway. Training for all squads has now stopped and is planned to resume as per below:

  • Wee Reds Minis and Micros – Sunday 9th January
  • Young Reds S1, S2 and S3 – Wednesday 5th January at Kettlistoun
  • Young Reds U16 and U18 – Thursday 6th January outdoors (Lower Mains Park)
  • Senior Squad – Thursday 6th January outdoors (Lower Mains Park)

The first scheduled fixture of the New Year is on Monday 3rd January – Linlithgow v Livingston (West Lothian Rose Bowl). At present this match is on and we plan to open appropriate facilities for this match, as per guidelines in place at the time.

More information on this match, either next week or the week after.

Gym and ITC Facilities

Gym and ITC facilities will remain closed over the shut-down period, with the exception of classes run by approved instructor Stuart Jamieson. As long as Scottish Government guidelines allow, Stuart’s business will remain open and he will notify his clients accordingly. Stuart will manage the use of the gym and will ensure that it’s cleaned appropriately, under authority of the Club Board. We regret that we are unable to provide access for gym members out with these hours during this shut-down period.
