Blast from Past
During the lockdown of 2020, we featured a number of old matches, as part of our Blast from the Past. Here they are:
Wee Reds Mini Tournament
Congratulations to all the players who turned out on Sunday at the Wee Reds Mini Tournament. It was great to see so many youngsters and it looked as though everyone was having a ball! We were delighted to welcome teams from Biggar, Forrester, Falkirk, Gala and Watsonians to Mains Park.
2s v Forrester
A home match on the day of the Fireworks’ Display, with Colin McMorrin making his debut for the 2s’ team that featured the Walker brothers!
Name the Players and Mascots
Linlithgow v Langholm
This week we are setting you a challenge to name both the players and the mascots from a 2010 Reds’ home match.
A few weeks earlier in 2010, the Reds kicked off their season with a warm up match against Dalziel RFC. There were some interesting action shots from that match. Write what you think is an appropriate caption to any or all of the photos and return to email@example.com We’ll publish good ones in next week’s newsletter.
Another Blast from the Past!

This week we delve deeper into history, rolling the clock back to March 2012 and a local derby league match which pitted the Reds against Livingston at Mains Park.
Reds Triumph in Fiesty Local Derby
Linlithgow 29 – 20 Livingston
Saturday 03 March 2012
Tries from Charlie Gillanders, Graeme McCallum (above) and a brace from Matthew Archer gave the Reds a bonus point victory, but having led 29-10 in the second half, they were made to sweat as Livi clawed back 10 points and threatened more.
Blast from the Past!
3 Matches from 5 Years Ago
Posted 02 April 2020
With no rugby to report on because of the current lockdown, we’ve dug into the Club records to bring you 3 match reports from 5 years ago. Unfortunately, Graham Black was only on hand for two of these matches, with the Reds playing in their blue change strips on both occasions. We’ve also added in a Wee Reds’ P4 match report from 5 years ago!
Hat-Trick for Stand-in Captain
14 February 2015
Linlithgow 34 – 10 Duns
Captain for the day Les Richardson claimed a hat-trick, but the outstanding score came from scrum-half Dougie Thomson, whose score is shown below in a significantly speeded-up format!
